This standard specifies the methods for determination of folding endurance of paper and board using Schopper tester and MIT methods. It sets out the conditions to be observed when using these instruments and gives the precautions to be taken in using each instrument.
Schopper methods are applicable to paper up to 0.25 mm thick and having a tensile strength greater than 1.33kN/m and paper board with thickness of 0.25mm to 1.4mm. MIT tester has interchangeable folding head allowing a range of thickness up to 1.25mm to be accommodated.
