This standard specifies the classification and type, technical requirements, test methods, inspection rules, packaging, marking and quality certificates of carbon steel, low alloy steel solid welding wires and filler wires for gas shielded arc welding. This standard is applicable to carbon steel, low-alloy steel solid welding wires and filler wires (hereinafter referred to as welding wires) used for welding such as molten gas shielded arc welding, tungsten gas shielded arc welding and plasma arc welding.
