本标准规定了城镇给水排水用软密封闸阀(以下简称闸阀)的结构型式及尺寸、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志和供货等。
本标准适用于公称尺寸DN50～DN900(其中公称尺寸不大于DN400的，公称压力小于或等于PN25；公称尺寸大于DN400，且不大于DN900的，公称压力小于或等于PN16)，最高使用温度80℃，法兰或承插接口型式连接，球墨铸铁材质壳体的城镇给水排水用闸阀的设计、制造和验收。
