本标准规定了以塑料树脂(PVC、PE、PP等)为主要原料，经加工成型工艺生产的检查井(以下简称检查井)的构成、材料、井座分类及标记、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于建筑小区(居住区、公共建筑区、厂区等)范围内的外径不大于800 mm，埋设深度不大于6m的排水管道上设置的塑料检查井。
