本标准规定了测定织物中拆下纱线线密度的两种方法。一是从没有除去非纤维物质的织物中拆下纱线线密度的测定方法。二是从去除非纤维物质以后的织物中拆下纱线线密度的测定方法。根据需要可选用其中的一种。
本标准适用于大多数机织物拆下纱线线密度的测定，不适用于在一定伸直张力下不能消除纱线上的卷曲，以及在织造、整理和该方法分析过程中纱线受到破坏的织物。
