本标准规定了粘胶短纤维阻燃性能试验方法——氧指数法。
本方法适用于阻燃粘胶短纤维氧指数的测定，纤维长度应能满足纺纱要求。其他类型的短纤维可参照采用。
本标准仅用于测定在实验室条件下材料的燃烧性能，控制产品质量，而不能作为评定实际使用条件下着火危险性的依据，或只能作分析某特殊用途材料发生火灾时所有因素之一。本标准不适用于评定受热后呈高收缩率的材料。
