本标准规定了棉纺设备进行数字化联网，实现设备集中管理的监控网络的基本要求、网络设备的基本要求、网络设备的通信接口规范、棉纺设备的数据信息结构。
本标准适用于棉纺设备（见附录A）的联网。棉纺设备制造商在开发、设计、生产时应考虑本标准的规定，棉纺生产企业在进行集中控制系统建设以及选择棉纺设备时也可参考本标准。
