Scope of Application：
GB/T 17421的本部分规定了与数控机床装配成一体的接触式探测系统（离散点探测模式）测量性能评估的检测程序。
本部分不含其他型式的探测系统，如那些用于扫描模式或非接触式的探测系统。用于坐标测量机的机床性能评估也不在本部分范围内，这些性能涉及跟踪能力的问题，明显受机床几何精度影响。
本部分规定的机床探测系统检测还可按GB/T 16857.2和GB/T 16857.5测定。
数控机床的接触式探测系统在加工过程中应用如下：
——加工前检查工件是否正确安装；
——工件的定位和/或校准；
——加工后，工件仍在机床上对其进行测量；
——机床旋转轴线的定位和定向测量；
——切削刀具的设定和测量（刀具半径、长度和偏移）；
——刀具磨损的测定。
