GB/T 7308的本部分根据GB/T 27939规定了有法兰或无法兰薄壁轴瓦的周长测量，并说明了所需的检验方法及测量设备。
薄壁轴瓦在自由状态下是弹开的，呈非圆柱形。因此，轴瓦周长只能通过专用测量设备在强制载荷下进行测量。
另外，也可使用不同于本部分所图示的测量设备，但其测量精度需与第17章的规定一致。
本部分适用于有法兰或无法兰薄壁轴瓦测量，其规格见GB/T 7308.1。
