本标准规定了焊接、切割及类似工艺用管路减压器（以下简称减压器）的定义和命名、符号和单位、制造要求、物理特性、型式试验及程序和标志、使用说明书、包装、贮存、检验规则等要求。
本标准适用于将压力在30 MPa以内1）气瓶压缩气体或甲基乙炔丙二烯混合物（MPS）、溶解乙炔汇流到总管的高压气体，调节至所需要输出压力的单级和双级管路减压器。
本标准不适用于GB/T 7899所述的直接安装在气瓶上的减压器。
