本文件适用于鞍座的最大高度大于435 mm而小于635 mm、凭借作用于后轮的驱动机构骑行的儿童自行车。凡符合本文件要求的儿童自行车就不是玩具自行车，因此也不属于玩具安全的范畴。
本文件不适用于特技骑行的儿童自行车［如用于极限运动的小轮车（BMX）自行车］。
本文件不适用于公路骑行的儿童自行车。
