本标准适用于空气脉冲气流发生器产生的脉冲气流，通过导气软管进入充气气囊作用于胸腔，协助排出呼吸道分泌物的设备。对于一台多功能的设备（如有雾化功能），本标准中规定的内容仅适用于设备中气动脉冲振荡原理的排痰功能，其他功能如有相应的国家标准和（或）行业标准，也应符合其他相关标准的要求。
本标准不适用于振动叩击排痰机。
