YY/T 1043的本部分规定的要求和试验方法适用于：
a） 牙科治疗机连接件的配置，以提供压缩气源、水源、抽吸和管道排放废水；
b） 牙科治疗机中气路和水路系统的材料、设计和结构；
c） 输入水和输入气的质量；
d） 牙科治疗机吸引系统的性能。
本部分还规定了使用说明和技术说明方面的要求。
由于本部分的局限性，符合本部分要求的牙科治疗机，不适用于移动患者的生命支持治疗，也不适用于需要无菌空气和无菌水供应的口腔手术治疗。本部分未包括银汞合金分离器。
