本文件规定了利用操纵速度来确定艇体长度（LH，如ISO 8666中所定义）小于8 m的动力艇的最大推进额定功率的要求。
本部分不适用于：
——ISO 13590中定义的个人艇；
——皮艇和划艇；
——ISO 6185-1、ISO 6185-2、ISO 6185-3和ISO 6185-4定义的充气艇，但不包括ISO 6185-3要求的按本文件进行试验的最大速度不小于30 kn的刚性充气艇；
——赛艇：专门为竞赛而设计建造的艇。
本文件未规定与最大推进额定功率相关的艇的结构强度要求，且不保证在水域、风、流和波浪等所有条件下的稳性。
