本文件描述了在听阈处测定被动护听器声衰减的方法。该方法提供了职业环境中典型用户群体获得的声衰减估计，这些用户可能缺乏以最佳方式佩戴护听器的培训和动机。
本测试方法的原理是测量佩戴和不佩戴护听器时听阈的差异。听阈之间的差异即为声衰减。对给定数量的被试要进行两次测量。
注1： GB/T 7584.1和本文件使用了护听器对听阈影响的测量原理。GB/T 7584.1中规定的测量护听器的声衰减，是护听器的纯物理特性。本文件中描述的方法可评估系统的整体性能，即综合考虑护听器、受试者、适配方法及使用指导的影响。
本测试方法产生的数据是在低声压级(接近听阈)下收集的，但这些数据也代表护听器在较高声压级下的声衰减。本文件不适用声衰减与声压级相关的护听器，即超过某声压级时，护听器性能受声压级影响。
注2： 在频率低于500 Hz时，基于本文件测得人耳声衰减数据会高估几个分贝，误差随频率降低而增大。该误差由测试过程中生理噪声对堵塞耳的听阈掩蔽引起。
