本文件适用于电压不大于40 V d.c.且安全系数为1.5的ⅡB、ⅡA、Ⅰ类和Ⅲ类电气设备；也适用于安全系数为1.0的ⅡC类“ic”设备和电压不大于32 V d.c.且安全系数为1.5的ⅡC类“ib”设备。
本防爆型式适用于电路本身不能点燃周围爆炸性环境的电气设备。
本文件适用于利用电子控制火花时限提供大功率电源同时维持安全水平的本质安全设备和系统。
本文件也适用于位于危险场所外部或由GB/T 3836（所有部分）列出的其他防爆型式保护的电气设备或电气设备部件，其中位于爆炸性环境的电路的本质安全取决于这类电气设备或电气设备部件的设计和结构。位于危险场所的电路依据本文件进行评价。
本文件不适用于“ia”等级电路和软件控制的电路。
