本文件规定了内部氢脆要求（见44），给出减少氢脆风险建议（见附录B）。
本文件适用于镀锌和镀锌合金（锌、锌镍、锌铁）和镀镉的紧固件，主要用于防腐蚀及其他功能特性：
——有或没有转化膜；
——有或没有封闭层；
——有或没有表面涂层；
——有或没有润滑（自润滑和/或附加润滑）。
本文件中仅普通螺纹紧固件的尺寸要求适用于其他电镀层和镀层体系（锡、锡锌、铜锡、铜银、铜、银、铜锌、镍、镍铬、铜镍、铜镍铬）。
本文件对电镀紧固件的要求优先于其他有关电镀的文件。
本文件适用于普通螺纹螺栓、螺钉、螺柱和螺母，非普通螺纹紧固件和非螺纹紧固件，如垫圈、销、卡箍和铆钉。
注： 电镀也适用于不锈钢紧固件，目的是润滑，以避免螺纹咬合。
