Scope of Application：
本文件规定了金属及其他无机覆盖层的维氏和努氏显微硬度试验的原理、符号和说明、设备、影响测量准确度的因素、试验程序、结果的不确定度和试验报告。
本文件适用于电沉积覆盖层、自催化覆盖层、喷涂铝的覆盖层和铝阳极氧化膜等多种覆盖层的测定。测定时试验力一般不大于9.807 N(1 kgf)。本文件8.3适用于覆盖层截面的显微硬度测定，8.4适用于覆盖层表面的显微硬度测定。
注1： GB/T 18449的第1部分～第4部分描述了金属材料努氏硬度试验。GB/T 4340的第1部分～第4部分描述了金属材料维氏硬度试验。GB/T 21838(所有部分）描述了金属材料硬度和材料参数的仪器化压痕试验。
注2： 覆盖层试验力通常选用GB/T 4340.1-2009中显微维氏硬度范围内的试验力。但是，由于宜尽可能选择大的试验力，也可选用GB/T 4340.1-2009中小力值维氏硬度范围内的试验力。
