本文件规定了Ⅰ型气胀式救生筏的设计、性能和标记特性，并给出了试验方法：
——具有4人～12人的承载能力；
——适用于艇体长度不大于24 m的小艇；
——适合从高度不高于6 m的艇外抛落；
——区分为两类（A类和B类）；
——设计可在高风浪但不包括例如飓风等极端情况的长途航行；
——具有完全的自持力；
——可在无外界援助情况下应对各种应急情况；
——不在极端航区航行（例如南大洋）。
Ⅱ型救生筏在ISO 9650-2中规定。
