本文件规定了塑料中基础聚合物的缩略语、组成这些术语的符号及表示塑料特征性能的符号。本文件仅包括用途明确的缩略语，以避免某一特定塑料出现多个缩略语或某一特定缩略语存在多种解释。
注1： 填料和增强材料的符号和缩略语见 GB/T 1844.2，增塑剂的符号和缩略语见GB/T 1844.3，阻燃剂的符号和缩略语见GB/T 1844.4，橡胶和乳胶的命名在GB/T 5576中给出，热塑性弹性体的命名在GB/T 22027中给出。
注2： 附录A给出了制定新缩略语的指南，附录B给出了缩略语中各组分的符号。
注3： 附录C将聚合物按照类型分类，并给出了聚合物对应的缩略语。
