本标准规定了平板玻璃、钢化玻璃、光伏压延玻璃和铸石的单位产品能源消耗（以下称“能耗”）的术语和定义、能耗限额等级、技术要求、能耗修正系数、统计范围和计算方法。
本标准适用于对以浮法工艺生产透明及本体着色的钠钙硅平板玻璃产品、以水平钢化法生产的钢化玻璃产品、以压延法生产的光伏压延玻璃产品以及生产铸石产品的企业进行能耗的计算、考核及新建和改扩建项目的能耗控制。
本标准不适用于生产普通压花玻璃、夹丝玻璃以及用于生产航天、电子、信息等行业用特殊平板玻璃产品的企业，也不适用于生产汽车用钢化玻璃、化学法钢化玻璃以及非水平钢化法生产钢化玻璃产品的企业。
