本标准规定了三相异步电动机、单相异步电动机、空调器风扇用电动机的能效等级、能效限定值和试验方法。
本标准适用于额定电压1 000 V以下，50 Hz三相交流电源供电，额定功率在120 W~1 000 kW范围内，极数为2极、4极、6极和8极，单速封闭自扇冷式、N设计、连续工作制的一般用途电动机或一般用途防爆电动机。
还适用于690 V及以下的电压和50 Hz交流电源供电的电容起动异步电动机(120 W~3 700 W)、电容运转异步电动机(120 W~2 200 W)、双值电容异步电动机(250 W~3 700 W)等一般用途电动机，以及空调器风扇用电容运转电动机(10 W~1 100 W)和空调器风扇用无刷直流电动机(10 W~1 100 W)。
