This standard applies to the water-soluble food additives Hawthorn Kernel Smoke Flavor I and II, which are produced using hawthorn kernels as raw materials through dry distillation (oxygen-free pyrolysis) below 800°C, followed by condensation and separation.
This standard does not apply to water-insoluble oily substances and their derived products, nor to products made from other materials or by other methods, such as wood vinegar.
