本部分规定了爆炸性环境用非电气设备限流外壳型“fr”的结构和试验要求，并且仅在极少情况下，外壳外部的环境会成为爆炸性环境且存在时间很短。
本部分是GB 25286.1要求的补充，GB 25286.1的规定对限流外壳型设备全部适用。
符合本部分要求的设备能够满足Ⅱ类Gc级、Ⅲ类Dc级设备的要求。本部分规定的防点燃型式不适于与非Gc、Dc级设备保护类型一起使用。
