本标准适用于组装成为婴幼儿安抚奶嘴或者功能用作为婴幼儿安抚奶嘴的产品，市场上作医疗用途的器具除外。
本标准不适用于设计供专门医师用作医疗用途的类似产品。例如，那些供涉及皮尔罗宾症或者早产婴儿用的类似产品。这些特殊的情况在资料性附录A中已有描述。
本标准不适用于喂食用途的奶嘴。
