本标准适用于为工业和专业用途而设计，不超过GB/T 156中规定的电压供电的电弧焊机和电阻焊机。
本标准适用的电阻焊机特指与机架、输入回路和二次回路实现最终安装的电阻焊变压器。
本标准不适用于交流TIG电弧焊机、交直流两用TIG电弧焊机、工频次级整流电阻焊机、缝焊机、电阻对焊机、闪光对焊机、储能电阻焊机、逆变式交流电阻焊机、单独出售的电阻焊变压器和机械设备驱动的电焊机。
