Scope of Application：
This document specifies the safety requirements and test methods for lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for portable electronic products.
This document applies to lithium-ion batteries and battery packs (hereinafter referred to as batteries and battery packs) for portable electronic products. Examples of portable electronic products that fall within the scope of this document are as follows:
a) Portable office products: laptop computers, tablet PCs, etc.;
b) Mobile communication products: cell phones, cordless phones, walkie-talkies, etc.;
c) Portable audio/video products: portable televisions, portable audio/video players, cameras, camcorders, voice recorders, Bluetooth headsets, portable speakers, etc.;
d) Other portable products: electronic navigators, digital photo frames, game consoles, e-books, mobile power supplies, portable energy storage power supplies, portable projectors, wearable devices, etc.
Lithium-ion batteries and battery packs for uses similar to the above examples may refer to the use of this document.
Additional requirements may apply to lithium-ion batteries or battery packs for portable electronic products used in specific applications such as in vehicles, ships, and airplanes, as well as for use in special fields such as medical, mining, and undersea operations.
This document does not apply to lithium-ion batteries and cells for electronic cigarettes.
