本标准规定了接收模拟电视信号，并采用阴极射线管（CRT）、液晶（LCD）、等离子体（PDP）显示器件的电视广播接收机（包括彩色电视机和黑白电视机，以下简称电视机）的技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输、贮存等。
本标准适用于屏幕尺寸不小于37 cm的彩色电视机、液晶电视机、等离子体电视机和不小于31 cm的黑白电视机，是制定产品规范和检验产品质量的依据。
屏幕尺寸在37 cm以下的彩色电视机和31 cm以下的黑白电视广播接收机制定产品规范和检验产品质量时，可参照使用。
