本标准规定了小功率电动机的安全通用要求。
本标准适用于GB/T 5171《小功率电动机通用技术条件》标准所规定的小功率电动机（以下简称电动机），其他类似电动机也可参照执行。
本标准不适用于控制电机（如伺服电机、自整角机、旋转变压器、测速发电机、感应移相器等）。
