本标准规定了起重机械超载保护装置的术语和定义、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输及贮存。
本标准适用于电动葫芦、桥式起重机、门式起重机、流动式起重机、塔式起重机和臂架起重机所使用的超载保护装置（以下简称“装置”）。其他类型起重机械使用的超载保护装置可参照使用。
