本标准规定了聚苯乙烯（PS）树脂的分类命名、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存等。
本标准适用于无定形聚苯乙烯均聚物。
本标准不适用于可发性聚苯乙烯、苯乙烯共聚物、苯乙烯衍生物的均聚物和那些用其他聚合物，如弹性体改性的品种。
