本标准规定了核电厂安全级电气设备及其接口部件鉴定的一般要求，包括鉴定原则、鉴定方法和鉴定程序。
本标准适用于核电厂安全级电气设备初始鉴定、保持鉴定状态和延长鉴定寿命，也适用于设备修改后的鉴定。当满足本标准的要求时，形成的鉴定文件可以用来证明设备处于在役条件下（包括设计基准事件)具有执行安全功能的能力，并降低了共因故障的风险。其他需要鉴定的设备可参考本标准。本标准不涉及环境应力水平和设备性能要求。
