本标准规定了内燃机气阀用钢及高温合金棒材（以下简称棒材）的分类、订货内容、尺寸、外形及重量、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、包装、标志和质量证明书。
本标准适用于制造内燃机气阀用直径不大于120 mm的热轧、锻制棒材和直径不大于25 mm的冷拉钢、银亮钢及合金棒材。
