本标准规定了船用中低压活塞空气压缩机（以下简称“空压机”）的分类、要求、试验方法、检验规则以及标志、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于电动机驱动的额定排气压力为3.0 MPa、1.0 MPa和0.7 MPa的船用中、低压活塞式空气压缩机的设计、生产、试验和验收等。
柴油机驱动的船用空压机以及其他额定排气压力不大于4.0 MPa的船用空压机也可参照执行。
