本标准适用于其法向模数(0.5～70)mm、齿宽（4～1 000） mm、分度圆直径(5～10 000) mm的平行轴传动的单个渐开线圆柱齿轮。其基本齿廓为GB/T 1356—2001《通用机械和重型机械用圆柱齿轮〓标准基本齿条齿廓》规定的齿廓。
本标准用于渐开线圆柱型产品齿轮精度的评价。
