本标准规定了船用声光报警信号器（以下简称报警器)的技术要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于船上与安全有关的声光报警信号器，如：指示灯、旋转闪光灯或不带此类闪光灯的机电式报警器及电子式报警器的设计、制造及验收。
本标准不适用于下列场合使用的报警器：
a) 存在腐蚀性和爆炸性的特殊条件下使用的报警器；
b) 船舶之间或船与岸之间航行用的报警器。
