本部分规定了寒冷环境用机械产品（以下简称产品）的防护类型、环境条件、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存等要求。
产品大类包括农机具、内燃机、工程机械、石化通用机械、电工产品、仪器仪表、机械工具和通用零部件等类。
本部分适用于按GB/T 4797.1—2005规定的“寒冷”及“寒温Ⅰ”两个气候区使用的一般用途的机械产品。
本部分不适用于寒冷地区存在化学腐蚀、爆炸危险及海洋、船舶、矿井等特殊环境条件下使用的产品。
