本部分规定了海拔1 000 m以上高原地区使用的机械产品（以下简称产品）的气候防护类型及其使用环境条件、技术要求、试验方法、检查规则、标志、包装、运输、贮存等要求。
本部分产品大类包括农机具、起重运输机械、通用机械、工程机械、电工产品、仪器仪表、内燃机、锅炉、机床工具和通用零部件等类。
本部分不适用于高原地区存在化学腐蚀介质、爆炸危险介质及矿井等特殊环境条件下使用的产品。
