本标准规定了机织地毯产品分类、要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志和标签、包装、运输和贮存。
本标准适用于羊毛、合成纤维、羊毛及羊毛混纺纤维为绒头原料，通过地毯织机使绒头纱线与毯基经纬线交织而成的有绒头的威尔顿、阿克明斯特机织地毯。以其他纤维材料为绒簇的机织地毯也可参照使用。
