GB/T 14986的本部分规定了软磁合金的术语和定义、分类、订货内容、尺寸、外形、重量、技术要求、检验规则、试验方法、包装、标志和质量证明书。
本部分适用于软磁合金的冷轧带材、冷轧板材、冷拉丝材、冷拔（轧）管材、温轧带材、热轧圆盘条、热轧扁材、热轧（锻）棒材和车光或磨光棒材（以下简称合金材）。
本部分不适用于非晶和纳米晶软磁合金带材（见GB/T 19345）。
