本标准规定了在每张软磁盘(FDC)上标注的标识符，以及未记录软磁盘的包装盒(箱)上标注的最少信息。
符合本标准的信息应标注在最终用户可用到的软磁盘上和未记录软磁盘的包装盒(箱)上。FDC驱动器上应标有它们可以处理的FDC的类型的说明。
