本部分适用于标称电压3 kV及以上、频率为50 Hz交流电力系统中的户内或户外喷射式熔断器。
按照不同的瞬态恢复电压（TRV），喷射式熔断器分成A级、B级和C级。
本部分仅涉及熔断器的性能，每只熔断器均按本部分通过试验的熔断器底座、载熔件和熔断件的规定组合构成。其他组合的性能不包含在本部分之内。
本部分也适用于电流自然零点开断的非喷射式熔断器。
