本标准包含试样制备、X射线检测、校正曲线建立以及碳含量检测不确定度的评估。
本标准适用于测定碳的质量分数小于1%的钢中碳含量，当含碳量高于1%时检测准确度会受到很大的影响，不适用于本标准。
本标准适用于垂直入射方式和波谱仪，不适用能谱仪。
