1.1 本标准（以抽象的方式）根据下列各项来定义OSI表示层提供的外部可见的服务：
a） 在用户/服务边界上的原语动作与事件；
b） 与各原语动作和事件相关的参数数据；
c） 这些动作和事件的相互关系及其有效顺序。
1.2 本标准定义的服务是由OSI表示协议（与OSI会话服务共同）提供的，并可供各OSI应用协议使用。
1.3 本标准不是各实现或产品的规范，也不约束计算机系统内实体和接口的实现，因而不存在是否与本标准一致的问题。
