本标准规定了中期和超长期存储的缩微品制作过程中有关定影、水洗和干燥的要求以及缩微品的保存条件。
本标准适用于符合GB/T 7430—1996规定的以醋酸纤维素酯、聚酯（聚乙烯对苯二甲酸酯）等为片基的常规冲洗的银明胶型黑白胶片缩微品。
本标准不适用于微泡胶片缩微品、重氮胶片缩微品、干银胶片缩微品和彩色胶片缩微品。
