本标准依据GB/T 193-2003《普通螺纹 直径与螺距系列》和GB/T 197-2003《普通螺纹 公差》，规定了普通螺纹的极限尺寸。普通螺纹基本牙型符合GB/T 192-2003《普通螺纹 基本牙型》的规定。
本标准适用于公称直径1 mm～300 mm、公差带为4H、5H、6H、7H、6G、4h、6h、6g、6f和6e的常用普通螺纹。
