GB/T 16291的本部分规定了从优选评价员，产品的研发、生产、加工或营销专家中选择具有特殊感官评价技能的人员一般导则。其中对优选评价员、产品的研发、生产、加工或营销专家的要求准则见ISO 85861:2008。本部分给出了选拔并扩展他们的知识和能力以达到专家评价员的原则和程序。
本部分还规定了对能够使用描述词建立产品和材料感官剖面的专家评价员的要求。这些要求中不包括对专家评价员应具备特定的产品和材料方面专业知识的要求。
本部分是对GB/T 10220的补充。
