本标准规定了用比较法测量贵金属和廉金属热电偶丝热电动势的方法。
本标准适用于分度号为S、R和B的贵金属热电偶丝（以下简称S型、R型和B型热电偶丝）在300 ℃～1 600 ℃各段温度范围内的热电动势测量以及分度号为K、T、E、J和N的廉金属热电偶丝(以下简称K型、T型、E型、J型、N型热电偶丝)在-196 ℃～1 200 ℃各段温度范围内的热电动势测量。对于其他类型的贵金属、廉金属热电偶丝亦可参照采用。本标准不适用于铠装热电偶材料的热电动势的测量。
