本标准规定了用于确定和评价在环绕机器相距1 m的最小矩形分界线和12 m可视性试验圆上，司机可视性的静态试验方法。
本标准适用于表1中列出的和GB/T 8498中定义的有特定坐姿司机位置的土方机械。对于表1中未列出的机器，包括大型机器、派生的土方机械和其他类型的土方机械，可以采用该可视性试验程序，见10.4。
本标准适用于在工地作业和公路上行驶的土方机械。
本标准按机器族的类型（见表1）规定了达到最大工作质量（见GB/T 21154）的各类机器可视性的性能准则。
