本标准规定了测量GB/T 8498中定义的驾乘式土方机械用落物保护结构（FOPS）特性的试验室试验，并给出了落物保护结构（FOPS）在典型试验中的性能要求。
本标准适用于与机器做成整体式或部件式的FOPS。本标准不适用于土方回填压实机、挖掘机、压路机、挖沟机、吊管机及用于操作附属装置（如反铲附属装置）的附加座椅的FOPS，或者额定功率小于15 kW的机器。
注： 本标准可用于对滚翻保护结构和落物保护结构的制造商提供指导。
